Winchester Science Museum

As part of their enquiry, 'What does the Earth look like from Space?' Year 5 and 6 visited Winchester Science Centre and Planetarium on Tuesday. The children were awed and inspired by the different exhibits and workshops particularly the planetarium.
Year 5 & 6 Greek Day

Year 5 and 6 had fun debating and practising to speak in front of a crowd about whether to wear School Uniform, PE Kits or Weekend Clothes. After putting their views forward and giving speeches in the main hall, School Uniform was the overall winner!
Year 5 & 6 Spike Heritage Visit

How does science help the homeless?
We visited The Spike in Guildford. As historians and philosophers, we learnt about how the homeless were treated in the past. We also considered what wants and needs are and what we would need to survive.
What a fascinating place, where we learnt so much, here’s what Year 5 & 6 had to say…
"My favourite part of the trip was when we had a tour
and learnt about the original building." Amelia 6SA
"We learnt about how homeless people were
treated in Edwardian times." Henry 5SJ
"The vagrants had to have a bath when they arrived at The Spike. They all used the same water and after a while, it would go cold and there would be lumps of dirt
in it!" Liberty 5SJ
"I enjoyed learning about crime and punishment the most.
I found it interesting finding out about the hard labour they would have to do." Oliver 6SP
