Matchy Matchy
Thu 25 May 2017Parents, children and staff in KS1 were doing double takes today when it seemed the KS1 teachers had adopted a uniform policy. Mrs Potter, and Mrs Lung who is currently the Year 1 cover teacher, felt as though they were looking in a mirror when they accidentally wore identical outfits. There is now talk of Miss Webster and Miss Barrell, and Mr K and Mr Bishop adopting matching uniform policies for their year groups. However Mr Flowers has stated he is unlikely to be matching Mrs Collinson and Mrs Poole in the near future. -
Year 5 BizSchool
Thu 25 May 2017In the beautiful sunshine today, our Year 5 students set up their stalls and did their best to lure their Year 6 customers into spending their pocket money. The stalls had a wide variety of products and activities, including sweets, cakes, drinks, candy floss, popcorn, and sponge throwing. They completed market-research questionnaires to find out what their customers liked and didn't like about their stalls. After half term they will all pitch their stalls to the Bears in the Bears Cave and one will be deemed the winner. With all of Year 5 now backing this stall, they will open for business to the whole school. The children did very well and will have learned valuable lessons about business and market research. Well done Year 5! -

Wed 24 May 2017Mr Bubbleworks has been in school today, showing the children all sorts of exciting science experiments. This tied in with our special curriculum week of Maths, Science and ICT. The children have thoroughly enjoyed learning about rockets and bubbles and making the most of our glorious outside spaces. This week they have also built and flown kites. -
Year 6 Horse Adventure
Wed 24 May 2017Last week, we met a horse called Sparky. In between dance, a group of 12 went outside to examine and learn about him. We learnt about: the saddle, the stirrups, the whip and the reigns. We learnt about the carriage attached to the horse and learnt that Sparky was 14 hands high and 13 years of age. We later discovered that he was a thoroughbred. Although the horse was gorgeous, he had rough fur, but apparently it was soft for a horse!
