  • Year Six Enterprise Stalls

Thu 18 Jul 2019 Debs Mansfield
Year 6 battled it out on the playground this lunchtime to see who could raise the most money by running stalls. From penalty shoot outs to ping pong in the pot, squishies and sponge-throwing, there was plenty to amuse and delight the rest of the school. The children will donate some or all of their profits to a charity of their choice.
  • Family Fun at the Sports Day Picnic

Wed 17 Jul 2019 Debs Mansfield
Thank you to all the Parents and Carers who came along to join us for The Weald Sports Day Picnic. It was so lovely to see all the groups of friends and families enjoying themselves. The gazebos and umbrellas were a very jolly sight on our beautiful field. Friends of the Weald kindly gave every child an ice pop to cool down - thank you - these were so welcome on such a warm day!
  • The sun shone on Sports Day

Wed 17 Jul 2019 debs mansfield
The sun shone down and the children gave their all. What more could we ask for? The children were all smiles as they took part in races, games and athletics and they all tried their best and competed with enviable sportsmanship. Mr Davies' timetable ran like clockwork and the staff ran the events for their class. Parents and Carers looked on with pride. Thank you to all those who came support their children on this very important day in the school calendar. We hope you enjoyed it.
  • Big Sing! Practice

Tue 18 Jun 2019 debs mansfield

Despite being tired from their Residential, Year 4 made an incredible noise practising for The Big Sing next Friday. The song which is called Siyahamba originated in South Africa, probably as a Zulu folk song. The song was popularised in 1978 by the Swedish choral group Fjedur , and is now sung by children and choirs all around the world. It is translated as ‘We are walking in the light of God’. The children will hopefully perform it at the Summer Fair so everyone will get a chance to hear it. Children from lots of local schools will get together on Friday to sing songs from around the world. Enjoy The Big Sing Year 4. You sound amazing.

Tiffany Budd, the local artist who ran the workshop said, “The children were very enthusiastic and listened to all of the directions and created some stunning artwork.”

  • Bedtime Stories with Mrs Mansfield

Fri 08 Mar 2019 debs mansfield
Children and parents gathered in the hall for Mrs Mansfield's Sponsored Bedtime Stories, to raise money for the school library. The crowdfunding page reached the target of 100% the same evening. Mrs Mansfield managed to read 9 stories in 20 minutes, with Mrs Moon providing a comedy element, Mrs Whiting as camera woman, and Mrs Stevenson and Ms Verge who were lovely Where's Wally bookends. Thank to everyone who attended. A big thank you to everyone who has donated money. We will now be able to make the library a cosy and comfortable reading space. If you would still like to donate the crowdfunding page will be open until 15th March.
