Please read the information below which gives details of our PE and Sport Premium Grant and how we allocate the funding.
In April 2013, the Government announced new funding (Sport Premium) for physical education (PE) and sport to improve the quality and breadth of PE and sport provision at School. This funding is allocated to primary school head teachers and is ring-fenced and therefore can only be spent on provision of PE and sport in schools, but they will have the freedom to choose how they do this.
Schools receive PE and sport premium funding based on the number of pupils in years 1 to 6. In 2015-2016 schools with 17 or more eligible pupils will receive £8,000 and an additional payment of £5 per pupil.
Our vision statement
The Weald is part of the Dorking School Partnership (DSP) and we enter many local competitions in a wide variety of sports from Cross country which is held here in our 17 acre grounds, football, netball, golf, gymnastics and much more. We believe that physical education and sport contribute to the holistic development of young people and through participation in sport and physical education, young people learn more about key values such as teamwork, fair play and respect for themselves and others. As a school we are committed to nurturing a positive approach to physical activities, healthy lifestyle choices and knowledge and understanding of our bodies and how they work.
