Please see below for some lovely feedback from our parents and carers
Dear Mrs Jacob
I am urged to write to you with some general feedback on the school.
My child came from a feeder school in September and it's fair to say that I had some major reservations about the Weald due to previous years and was somewhat apprehensive about how the school would perform and support him. You allayed some of those fears in the welcome meetings and, knowing that I'm lucky to have a fairly academic child who was going into a class with lots of friends I felt a little more comfortable. And, WOW, I am so happy now! He has continued to improve on a similar trajectory in his lessons, but the most impressive change has been in his social interactions.
He joined the Weald as a very shy and sometimes embarrassingly quiet boy. He wouldn't talk to his hairdresser or dentist without our interjection, nor would he dare ask an adult a question or answer one. Over the last few months we have noticed a significant change, he will now respond and engage in conversation, and so many people have commented on how he has come out of himself. It's a complete joy to watch, the pinnacle, and prompt for this email, was that he sang a solo line at the yr 3/4/5 performance last week.
Whilst watching the yr 3/4/5 performance, we were sat next to a class of pupils I didn't know. There was one boy who was not very happy about being there and was fidgeting and messing around. The way the teacher dealt with it was so lovely, after clearly telling him his behaviour wasn't OK, and him being more and more agitated, she put an arm around him and calmed him down. It was such a lovely touch and gives me a feeling that you do indeed nurture our children to the best of your ability, considering the lengthy guidelines and restrictions that I am sure you are bound to. The performance itself was lovely too, and so nice to see all of the children involved rather than a select few.
Whilst I know that nothing will ever be perfect for everyone, I wanted to let you know that right now, certainly for us, the Weald is doing a great job and I wanted you to know that! On the recent school visit, the mails saying the pupils had arrived safely and had then boarded the return coach safely as well was a lovely touch,
Please keep doing what you do!
